Care Certificate
The Care Certificate is a set of standards that social care and health workers adhere to in their daily working life. It is the new minimum standards that should be covered as part of induction training of new care workers.
For CQC regulated providers, the Care Certificate is expected of care workers joining Health and Social care since April 2015.

- Communication
- Privacy and dignity
- Fluids and nutrition
- Awareness of mental health, dementia and learning disabilities
- Safeguarding adults
- Safeguarding children

- Health and safety
- Handling information
- Infection prevention and control
Skills for Care and Health Education England provide a range of materials that are free to use and of a very high standard to help with the attainment of the Care Certificate. However, under the new apprenticeship standards, the Care Certificate is now a requirement, so all of the learners registered with Varsity Training, completing Level 2 and 3 Health and Social care programmes will complete the Care Certificate as part of their apprenticeship.
